This piece has the wrecked boat in pieces and the asylum seekers in " detention" Again I have used biro acyrlic paint paper from the hymn book for the people, and stitching.

This series, still at David Green's workshop, incorporates some pages from an old hymn book.n this on ,the hymn i "More to Follow" Which I think is very appropriate, as the boat people sail precariously in their paper boat

The boat, usingbiro,which then runs with sprayed with fixative,and charcoal, and some stitching.

This work is part of a series done mostly in a workshop run by David Green, using tschniques he is fond of.It is on canvas, covered with fine silk glues on,coloured with charcoal. The boat os silk crumpled and glued,then painted,and there is a minimum of sticthing

I have started this blog to publish the textile art i have been working on which is on the theme of social justice. This year My work has been on "The Boat People,or Asylum Seekers". This first piece, which is knitted, embellished and embroidered, is of the boat, being menaced as it desperately tries to reach safety.I entered this piece in the Beanie Fest, in Alice Springs.
